Why I built it.

Data leaks are complex beasts too confusing for most to make sense of. I built DataLeak Dan so everyone — including my Mum — can quickly digest their data leaks and get personal support and advice if they like. The goal is for my Mum to call me less about her dataleaks and for non-technical peeps to be able to better digest their own.

How safe is it to use?

DataLeak Dan is so safe I recommend it to my Mum. This website also has no tracking or anayltic scripts, scores A+ for Security Headers, and has a perfect 4 x 100 Google PSI score. (Note: Objective scores can be subjective but still they take skill to obtain.)

Do you really have my data?

No, this website doesn't have or store anyone's email address. Instead it uses HIBP — the 🐐 of global dataleaks — to confirm if your email address has been publically leaked online and if so by whom and with what other personally-identifying information.

Why use DataLeak Dan instead of HIBP?

DataLeak Dan is made to simplify data leaks for non-technical peeps and offer expert support, advice, education, and assurance for anyone who wants it. More technical peeps can still, always, and forever use HIBP for free.

Who am I?

I'm LaneBrain, an independant Melbourne-based creative engineer. I create, code, and consult with brands like Gillette, P&G, Ansell, Vodacom, and ST ALi who all buy my brains in various ways including creative campaigns, product ideation, tech-stack strategies, cybersecurity, and other digital/creative capers. How I built this site

I built this website jamstacked with love, performance, and security via 11ty, TailwindCSS, AlpineJS, Cloudflare, Github, Stripe, and Shiv. My email is always protected by ProtonMail and I only ever browse in Brave (Note: I design in the browser too).

Can I help you personally?

Yes I offer CyberSafe advice and services for everyday peeps, prominent individuals, small-to-medium business, and victims of DV (domestic violence, coercive control, and sextorsion). I also offer digital and creative services via LaneBrain.
